There are three climate zones in Angola. In the north of the country and on the coast, the climate is tropical. Here, high daytime temperatures of over 25 °C dominate. Even at night it doesn’t cool down very much. The rainy season is from November to April. Precipitation of up to 19.69 in is on the agenda here. In the interior and the south there is a temperate tropical climate. When to go to Angola?
The best travel season for Angola cannot be generalized because of the three different climatic zones. In Luanda, the months of September to January are ideal for an impressive holiday. Low rainfall and temperatures between 25 °C to 30 °C invite you to jump into the Atlantic Ocean and explore the surrounding area. May and June are also a good travel season.
The best time to visit Namibe in the south-west of the country is in November and December and from February to May. Seven to eight hours of sunshine and high temperatures provide a good starting point for your Angola trip. In central Huambo, the best time to travel is in April, September and October. Temperatures here range from 20 °C to 21 °C and lower precipitation compared to the months of November to March.

Angola has a wide range of fascinating flora and fauna to offer. In the northern, tropical coastal regions, for example, there is a very pronounced and species-rich rainforest. Angola has six national parks. The largest park is the Iona National Park in south-west Angola. It has a large variety of wildlife, including lions, rhinoceroses, elephants, leopards, spikebucks and several zebra species.
Kameia National Park is another protected area inland. With over 930 miles of coastline, Angola also has numerous beaches to offer, for example in Luanda.
