When is the best time to travel for Canary Islands cruises?
The climate in the Canary Islands is mainly subtropical and is often referred to as “eternal spring”. Even in high summer it rarely gets unbearably hot, while the weather remains pleasantly mild even in winter. These characteristics make the Canary Islands the perfect area for cruises all year round!
We particularly recommend all those months in which the rest of Europe has much worse weather to offer. Therefore, spring and autumn, especially the months of April and May as well as September and October, are considered the best travel seasons for Canary Islands cruises.
But of course the summer and winter in the Canary Islands also have their own special charm. While in July and August the main focus is on bathing fun, in winter walks and hikes through the fantastic landscapes are among the absolute highlights.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that the winter in the Canary Islands is considerably wetter than the summer months. The rainy months are November, December, January and February. We therefore generally recommend the period from mid-March to the end of October as the ideal time for a cruise along the Canary Islands.
