When to visit Djerba?
Djerba is a popular destination for beach holidays, so when determining the best time to travel, we take water and air temperatures as well as the duration of sunshine into account. Basically the Tunisian island can be visited all year round, but the tourist season and charter air traffic usually starts in May and usually ends in October.
The high temperatures of up to 32 °C in the shade and the rain-free summer weather are not only popular with foreign tourists, many Tunisians also use the weekends for short trips. The best time to visit Djerba is in June, July, August and September, even if the high season falls with higher prices.
The early summer month of May and the autumn months of October to mid-November are also ideal for a trip to Djerba. During this time bathing is possible without problems, the temperatures are a little more pleasant and the beaches are much emptier. At the latest from the end of November to the end of April most hotels will close, with 15 °C to 18 °C in the water the bathing fun in the Mediterranean would also fall by the wayside.
