On this page, you will find information about the climate and the best time to visit Hua Hin. We created climate tables and charts for the locations of Hua Hin und Prachuap Khiri Khan. These contain details about temperatures, precipitation and more.
Furthermore, we analyzed all climate data and provide a recommendation about which months are best to visit Hua Hin for your holiday.
About 45,000 inhabitants live on an area of about 520 square miles, but the proximity to the Bangkok metropolitan region makes Hua Hin a popular place for a weekend excursion. Many richer Thais have also bought holiday homes and apartments in Hua Hin.
The border of Myanmar is only 19 miles away from here. The seaside resort on the Gulf of Thailand in Bangkok is easily accessible by train and several coach companies also operate conveniently between the two cities. The journey usually takes about 3 hours.
The beautiful sandy beach is a dreamlike idyll and not as crowded as many islands in the south of Thailand. Some hotels are located in the shadow of the beach promenade, Hua Hin is still far away from classical mass tourism.
Ideally you connect Hua Hin with some other regions in the context of a Thailand round trip or use the days at the beach as a relaxing conclusion of a stay in the turbid capital.
However, it should be noted that even outside the actual rainy season (May to October) there can be small showers. On the basis of the maximum values of 9.69 in precipitation in the rainiest month of October, it can be determined that the rainy season is much less pronounced anyway. The driest months in Hua Hin are between December and April.
The climate determined by the monsoon brings on the other hand excellent water temperatures of 28 °C to 30 °C with itself and thus ideal conditions for a bathing holiday. These high values are mainly due to the peripheral location on the Gulf of Thailand, where the warm water”accumulates” to a certain extent.

When to visit Hua Hin?
The best time to travel in Hua Hin are the months November to February, which are particularly impressive with high temperatures and mostly sunny and dry weather. The period between the beginning of March and the end of April (until the end of the dry season) is also ideal for a holiday, but the day temperatures can become very oppressively hot and are therefore not recommended for everyone.
In the months of May to October, temperatures remain correspondingly high and are accompanied by increased humidity, and the rainy season also brings some precipitation. Nature now shines in splendid green and invites you to extensive discovery tours into the hinterland. Basically, there are always sunny days, but this is without doubt not the best travel time in the region.
Hua Hin is climatically combined with the neighbouring seaside resorts Cha-am and Phrachuap Khiri Khan. Nevertheless, it is striking that November in Phrachuap Khiri Khan often still shows considerable precipitation, while in Hua Hin itself the rainy season has already ended. There may be further postponements in the course of climate change, which is why we do not give November the highest level of recommendation as a travel season.
