La Palma belongs to the Canary Islands and lies in the Atlantic Ocean. The capital of the island is Santa Cruz de La Palma. With 85,000 inhabitants, La Palma is one of the smaller Canary Islands.

La Palma enjoys a very mild climate all year round. Every year more than 3000 hours of sunshine are reached, so that the annual average temperature is around 19 °C. The maximum temperatures in summer are around 27 °C, rarely the 30 °C mark is exceeded. When to go to La Palma?
In the spring months of March, April and May the temperatures begin to rise again, so that very pleasant values of about 22 °C are reached. These are particularly suitable for hikers and nature lovers who enjoy the many hiking routes on La Palma through breathtaking landscapes. Just as in autumn, there are perfect conditions for extensive hiking tours during this travel season.
However, you should bring warmer clothes, as it can get very fresh in the mountains of La Palma. For holidaymakers who want to enjoy the sun, the travel season from June to September is of course ideal. The whole region now appears in a lush green and makes La Palma shine in a beautiful splendour.

La Palma is a real highlight for all nature lovers. Compared to its big neighbours, it is not a typical beach island and therefore largely spared from mass tourism. A special highlight on La Palma is the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. Here you can hike wonderfully and marvel at a unique variety of plants. Of course, a path to the highest point of the island, the Roque de La Muchachos, is also worthwhile.
From above you have an incredible view over the island and enjoy unforgettable panoramas that should not be missing in your souvenir photos. Another hot tip is a walk around the volcano De San Antonio or Teneguia. Also the beautiful fishing village San Andres y Sauces with the nearby sea swimming pool Charco Azul is worth more than a short detour.
