Climate in Marmaris
The climate is very Mediterranean according to the location of Marmaris on the Aegean Sea. It is characterized by warm summers and a rather mild winter. In the cooler season from November to February, however, there can be some rainfall, January is the wettest month with up to 9.09 in of precipitation. However, as temperatures rise, the rain in the Turkish Aegean decreases very rapidly during the course of the year.In April there is only 2.4 in of precipitation and the temperatures are already above 20 °C. When to visit Marmaris?
The best time to visit Marmaris and the Turkish Aegean is between June and October. Due to the enormous heat in July, however, this travel season is not recommended for everyone, but for absolute sun worshippers it can be a perfect travel period. The marginal months from mid-May to the end of June and from early September to mid-October are particularly pleasant.
The main season on the Aegean is mainly during the European summer holidays in July and August. The water temperature of up to 26 °C is very pleasant in summer and ideal for an unforgettable bathing holiday. In the months of November, December and January, Marmaris is affected by increased rainfall, at night temperatures can even reach 3 °C to 6 °C in winter.
However, some hotels offer special winter offers with relaxing hammam treatments, indoor pools and spa pampering programs for the colder seasons.
