On this page, you will find information about the climate and the best time to visit Ras al-Khaimah. We created climate tables and charts for the location of Ras Al Khaimah. These contain details about temperatures, precipitation and more.
Furthermore, we analyzed all climate data and provide a recommendation about which months are best to visit Ras al-Khaimah for your holiday.
Today, Ras Al Khaimah is considered a new trend destination and is particularly impressive with its beautiful beaches and high-class hotel resorts, which are usually significantly cheaper than Dubai and Abu Dhabi and often have all-inclusive offers.
Ras Al Khaimah is only 60 minutes drive from Dubai International Airport, but more and more holidaymakers land directly at Ra’s al-Chaima Airport (e.g. with charter flights from SunExpress). Some 280,000 people live in the emirate, the last of the seven UAE members to join in 1972.
The city centre is characterised by low buildings in traditional style, the springs of the neighbouring Hajar Mountains make the region comparatively fertile. Numerous building projects are being developed along the coast, from high-class holiday hotels to modern residential complexes. Besides Al Marjan Island and the nearby Al Hamra Village, these include the major projects Mina Al Arab and Rakeen.
But please do not misunderstand us: We are talking about a region that is considered to be extremely dry and in which there is not even a ten-minute drizzle from May to October. Ras Al Khaimah is pleasantly mild in winter, with daytime temperatures still above 30 °C in November. From December to mid-March, the thermometer fluctuates between 13 °C to 15 °C at night, and around 25 °C to 29 °C at noon. Since the water temperatures in the Gulf never fall below 23 °C, the weather in Ras Al Khaimah is actually bathing all year round.
Please note that summer in UAE is considered the absolute low season, as from mid-May to mid-September every day values of well over 40 °C in the shade are completely normal. This extreme heat can be particularly dangerous if you are physically weak or do not drink enough fluids. But it is precisely at this time that Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and the like offer wonderful savings – so a closer look is definitely worthwhile!

Just a few years ago Ras Al Khaimah was little more than an unknown piece of land northeast of the glittering metropolis Dubai, but the fantastic climate and the immense boom of the entire United Arab Emirates ensured a meteoric rise here too.

Climate in Ras Al Khaimah (UAE)
Ras Al Khaimah has a warm (sub)tropical climate all year round with quite high humidity and extremely hot temperatures in summer. Basically it can be said that the weather in Ras Al Khaimah and the entire Emirates offers a sun guarantee almost every day of the year. Only in exceptional cases there are short showers, the best chance of this rare spectacle is in February and March. But please do not misunderstand us: We are talking about a region that is considered to be extremely dry and in which there is not even a ten-minute drizzle from May to October. When to go to Ras Al Khaimah?
As described above, the weather in summer reaches temperatures that can otherwise only be found in the desert. Although all hotels, shopping centres and attractions (including Dubai, of course) are air-conditioned, the focus during this time is clearly on”sweet idleness” at the pool and beach. The enormous heat and the high humidity really leaves no room for great activity.
A little tip: The further away from the coast, the drier (and thus more pleasant) the air becomes – especially luxurious desert resorts such as Banyan Tree Al Wadi are therefore particularly popular in summer.
The best time to travel for Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) is from late October to mid-April, with November, December and March being our favorites. Nevertheless, the region on the Arabian Gulf with the small restrictions mentioned is a real year-round goal! Despite the enormous heat, the summer holidays are also very popular as a travel season.

Sights and Highlights
Ras Al Khaimah is the clear focus of the classic package tour, holidaymakers of all ages from singles to couples to families appreciate the luxurious hotel facilities on the beach and spend unforgettable holidays in the emirate. Nevertheless, there is a lot to discover in the surrounding area:
Most hotels have their own water sports centres, golfers get their money’s worth in the Al Hamra Club. An early morning visit to the Al Sawan Camel Track is highly recommended, where traditional camel races take place far from mass tourism.
Meanwhile, the zoo of Ras Al Khaimah does not exactly shine with species-appropriate attitude and is therefore not recommended by us. Instead, enjoy the view from Dhayah Fort or learn more about the history of the Emirate at Ras Al Khaimah National Museum. In any case, you should also consider a day trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi:
At least at the moment the sights, malls and attractions in the “little” Ras Al Khaimah are still no comparison to the big brothers. And yet it is the ideal starting point for your holiday, as you will find the right amount of rest, relaxation and enjoyment here!
The territory of the United Arab Emirates includes Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well as the somewhat less well-known Emirates Fujairah (Fujaira), Umm al-Qaiwain, Ajman (Ajman) and Sharjah (Sharjah). The UAE Federation borders on Oman and Saudi Arabia, capital of the Emirates is Abu Dhabi.

September-October 2017. DoupleTree by Hilton. Marjan Island 14 days: 10 days 38-40 degrees. The last 4 days 42-44 degrees. In the evening a very high humidity. When I had a cold beer outside my shirt and my hair was soaking wet.
We will come back in 2018 in high summer (33-34 KW) to get to know the extremes.
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
The weather was great this time of year.
Are back in December( at The Cove Rotana)Event is the 70th Geb. Freue mich. We love the Emirates. The short flight time; of course the fantastic weather and water. Too bad that I haven’t found a long term vacation yet. option would be from Jan-March.
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
We were the last week of April and the first week of May in RAK. We wanted sun and heat…and we got it. During the day between 37-40 °C (in the shade!), at night approx. 27°C and the water had 29°C – it was great. However, beach shoes are a must, the sand was already boiling-hot in the morning!
A day trip to Dubai at 40°C is very exhausting, but absolutely unforgettable!
We had no problems with the heat, but the constant change between the outside temperature and the air-conditioned rooms (hotel, taxi, café, shopping mall, shuttle bus, supermarket…) is extreme and we caught a cold.
Nevertheless we were not the last time in the UAE – because it is a soooooo fascinating country!
Weather Rating: 4 stars – Good
Great weather mid-March, very warm but not too hot, lots of sunshine and super water temperature. Overall ideal.
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
absolutely beautiful bathing and pool weather, sea approx. 28 degrees Celsius, air approx. 35 degrees Celsius
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
the weather was very mixed. always pleasant temperatures, but mostly cloudy. again and again rising winds restricted the stay at the beach.
Weather Rating: 3 stars – Mixed
Air over 40, water over 30°C…high humidity…but if you like it…but full of sun.
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
During the day between 35 – 40 degrees, no rain, at night around 30 degrees, no wind movement
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
very pleasant beach weather temperatures not too hot-evenings slight cooling, but also good to endure-thin t-shirt was enough in the evening
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
we landed at 13 o’clock on new year’s eve in dubai and from there with a private transfer directly to ras al-chaima. between landing and arrival in the beautiful hilton ras al-chaima hardly two hours passed including immigration and suitcase in receipt. afterwards we enjoyed two perfect weeks of relaxation and great food, in particular however quite excellent weather. during the day about 27 to 29 degrees, at night down to 13, 14 degrees. the sea had nevertheless bath temperature and we were every day in the water. excursions were also all together super, from ras al-chaima one is on the one hand fast in the oman (dolphin tour with snorkeling in the traditional dhow boat is great!) and on the other hand we are also two days after dubai and abu dhabi to shop and marvel. altogether a nice vacation, nowhere else in the winter holidays for the available budget so much sun, relaxation and enjoyment would have found.
Weather Rating: 5 stars – Excellent
We were in Ra’s al-Chaima in August 2015 and made use of a crazy lastminute bargain. We didn’t have much time to think about it and we hit it. 14 days All Inclusive for 750 EUR per nose, you can’t complain. We knew it was warm on site, but really “warm” is the wrong term. Since Ra’s al-Chaima in August the word “HOT” has a completely new definition for me… 43, 44, sometimes 45 degrees, perfectly normal! It was still great and unforgettable
Weather Rating: 4 stars – Good
Anyone who travels to the Emirates in September knows what to expect: Pure heat, often a little milky oppressive air. There is nothing more than relaxing by the pool and swimming in the sea – Ras Al Khaimah offers the best conditions for this. Dubai is not far away, the hotels are comparatively cheap for the level of luxury and many offer all-inclusive. We felt very comfortable in the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah. I forgive grade 2 because it was a little “too hot” after all.
Weather Rating: 4 stars – Good
